FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are a semi-permanent treatment which applies fake lashes (usually made of either synthetic, faux mink or silk fibres) to your natural lashes. They are applied strand by strand using a semi-permanent glue to your natural lash, the glue will not damage your natural lashes. This can be a lengthy treatment, different from false eyelashes which are glued to your skin in a strip, these lashes are applied one at a time to give a fuller more natural look.

How long do eyelash extensions last for?

The extensions will usually last 4 - 6 weeks, it depends on your how you have cared for your lashes and your natural lash cycle - when your lashes would normally fall out. You can top up at 2 - 4 weeks and book a fill in treatment to maintain your look.

How long does it take to put the extensions in?

Typically it takes around 90 minutes to apply a classic extension, longer if you have chosen a volume extension. Lash refills/infills should take around 60-75 minutes.

Is the application painful?

No, not at all. In fact most of my clients find the process very relaxing and have never complained of pain.

Can I put makeup on my lashes?

Most clients have chosen eyelash extensions so they wake up every morning ready to go, no need for mascara. You are allowed to wear makeup but do not put mascara on your lash extensions.

Do eyelash extensions come in different colours?

Yes, I offer a whole range of lash extensions for you to choose from. From natural colours such as medium brown, dark brown to bright colours such as blue, pink, purple, etc for a fun look.

Do lash extensions damage natural lashes?

No your natural lashes should not be damaged by extensions, as long as they have been applied properly. I have been applying lash extensions for a long time and I’m fully trained and accredited, you can be sure that I will take great care applying your extensions so that your natural lashes are completely safe.

How do I look after my eyelash extensions?

You are allowed to get them wet as soon as the are done, it’s just heat and steam you need to avoid for 24hrs ( sun beds, sauna, hot tub ). You must try to avoid touching your lashes to ensure the best retention possible such as brushing only when needed, curling them, playing with them, etc. You should also avoid oil based products.

What should I do / not do before my appointment?

We ask that you do not wear any eye makeup or curl your lashes before your appointment.

Can I go to the gym with lash extensions in?

Yes, lash extensions are completely waterproof so you can go swimming, steam rooms, etc. without having to worry. It is important however that you avoid heat and steam for 24hrs after application ( sun beds, sauna, hot tub ).
